“How are you?”shadow.jpg

“Good.”

“How was your week?”

“Oh, yeah, you know….”

They’re hardly even questions anymore really - you hardly ever need to think out a response. It’s just a long way of saying hi…

What have I actually done this week? Worked hard, stressed over many choices. Voted in the Australian Federal Election, where my country as a whole seemed to say to the latest Prime Minister hopeful “Look, we’re not actually voting for you, we just want to get rid of the one we’ve got now…”

Been woken up at 3am by what became a lengthy text message conversation with a person more than a little inebriated… culminating in that age old advice – quit drinking and get some sleep, it’ll look better in the morning…

Performed in a marathon sprint to get to the video store and back in under half an hour… whilst alternating carrying a squirming two year old with my brother… and still getting back in time for my lift to bible study…

timeout.jpgTake a breather every so often, and look back for a second or two. Like a guy said on the radio, regardless of how irritating the queues are the polling booths, the worst violence we have to endure amidst our change in government is having leaflets shoved in our face as we watch various candidates sneakily tearing down the oppositions posters…

My inebriated friends can’t manage to walk a straight line, but they know my number (or they can find it in their phone).

And I needed a workout anyway. There are still highlights in a horrendous week, thank goodness! My point: don’t let the rote reply stop you remembering J

So. How was your week?
