Ragamuffin: web world wandering
… a link exchange
O
ne recreational activity that I enjoy is surfing. Surfing the web has helped me keep my weight down – I don’t eat around my computer! In today’s blog I would like to share some of the sites (links) that I visit often for updates on what is going on in web-world. Of course theRubicon is the one I check frequently – at least every Monday! theRubicon helps me widen my knowledge of what people are thinking in our Salvation Army world. It widens my vision of what we can be. It stretches my thinking on various issues that relate to the movement I am a part of today.

Here are some other links:
Books | This link helps me see, in a limited way, what people are reading. It is a “best sellers” list of Christian retailing.
Talks | This website has various teachers and preachers. Some are good, some are great and some are just better left unheard. One of my favs is Chuck Swindoll. He is an American favorite for many Bible teachers.
Music | Here is a cool link for music [Editor note: due to licensing constraints this site/service is only available in the USA]. Type in your favorite artist or style and it plays via the web for your enjoyment. Try smooth jazz!
TSA | This is an interesting site with O & R for us Salvationist. I think more database material could be added – like the Ceremony Book or other helpful information. Maybe if our readers know of more sites like this they could be listed in the comments for others.
Musing | Rick Mansfield has some interesting topics. Sometimes it is the Bible and sometimes it is Mac computers. Usually interesting and helpful.
Commentary | The TNIV Bible is liked by some and disliked by others. Here is a site that covers some of the positives and negatives of the TNIV Bible.
Scripture | This website is a helpful place to do Bible verse look up and some minor Bible study.
Thought| David Guzik is a Bible teacher who has placed many of his good and free commentaries online. Most of the information is sound and beneficial.
I have much more but we want to hear yours. There have to be some other great favorites that theRubicon readers have found. Share with us via the comments section.
Ragamuffin appears every Monday on theRubicon. Find past Ragamuffin posts and a bio of Capt. Jay Davis here.

i really enjoy http://www.thinkchristian.net/. the topics are diverse and timely, and the writing usually intelligent and insightful.
Grace’s link (to a great site, thanks!) was broken because of extra punctuation, soo I’ll add it here, separated from the rest of the text:
